Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive works8 Bit Retro is a style built from chunky pixel blocks, where each element is intentionally coarse and graphic. Repeated hearts, mirrored layouts, and high-contrast text placements are common in these buddy icons.
