Read the short historyRecovered from the early web
Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive works3 Heart Symbol buddy icons center on the heart glyph shown as <3 or small heart drawings paired with short phrases. In these samples, the sentiment is reinforced by tiny recurring stars or repeated symbol blocks, making the tiny composition legible at icon size.
